The refusal on the part of the 1st respondent in granting licence to the petitioner for keeping NP Bore 0.32 Pistol/Revolver for his self protection, prompted the petitioner to come up before this Court.
2.
On 04.10.2010, the 1st respondent rejected the application of the petitioner stating that the petitioner could not substantiate that he faced any threat to himself and that he needed a licensed weapon.
3.
Today, when the matter came up for hearing, the learned Government Pleader reiterated the contention raised in the rejection order.
4.
In this context, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is ready to substantiate the need for the possession of a licensed weapon if an opportunity is provided to him.
W.P.(C) No. 9698 of 2012 ..2..
Therefore, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent concerned to reconsider the petitioner's application after affording the petitioner an opportunity to substantiate his grievance in full before the authorities concerned.
This exercise shall be completed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
