JUDGMENT

Shaffique, J.

The petitioner being the Managing Trustee of the Poyiloor sree Muthappan Madappura Kshethra Committee, has approached this Court seeking police protection. It is stated that the festival is scheduled to be conducted in the temple from 7.3.2015 to 12.3.2015. The petitioner apprehends that respondents 1 to 3 may indulge in criminal activities during festival, where large number of devotees are assembling, which may cause disturbance to the members of the locality and may lead to severe consequences. It is submitted that though a complaint has been given for rendering police protection during festival, it is apprehended that the Police may not take appropriate action in the matter.

WP(C).6099/15

2. The learned State Attorney, on instruction, would submit that the first respondent is laid up, second respondent is in judicial custody and third respondent was arrested for involving in criminal activities. However, during festival season, the Police will make necessary arrangements to maintain law and order.

3. In view of the submission made by the learned State Attorney that the Police will take appropriate steps to maintain law and order in the area, we do not think that it is necessary to issue any direction as prayed for in the Writ Petition.

We record the submission of the learned State Attorney and close the Writ Petition.
