JUDGMENT

The petitioners have approached this Court with the following prayers:

"a. direct the 1st respondent by the issue of a writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction to accept the Land Tax from the petitioners in respect of their 1 acre and 36 cents of land in R.S.No.137/5 of Karulai village in Nilambur Taluk.

b. direct the 1st respondent by the issue of a writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction to consider Ext.P3 representation in the light of Ext.P1 and P2 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that, the grievance of the petitioners has also been projected by way of Ext.P3 representation and that the petitioners will be satisfied, if a direction is given to the first respondent to have it considered and finalized within a reasonable time.

2. Heard the learned Government Pleader as well.

3. In view of the limited extent of relief sought for and proposed to be given, this Court does not find it necessary to

W.P.(C).No.6423 of 2015 deal with the merits of the case or to issue notice to the 2nd respondent.

4. After hearing both the sides, there will be a direction to the first respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on Ext.P3 in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, 2nd respondent and other interested parties, if any, at the earliest, at any rate, within 'two months' from the date of receipt of a copy of this this judgment. The petitioners shall produce a copy of the judgment, along with a copy of the writ petition, before the first respondent, for further steps.

The writ petition is disposed of.
