J U D G M E N T

The petitioner has approached this Court with the following prayers :

i. a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ order or direction to the first respondent to dispose the SM No.83 of 2015 within a reasonable time.

ii. such other relief's as this Hon'ble Court deems fit to grant in the nature of this case.

The petitioner along with her sisters became the owners of properties comprised in Re.Survey Nos.115/11 & 115/14 of Thrikkandiyur Village in Tirur Taluk by virtue of assignment deed No.1592/1993. Petitioner is aggrieved of pendency of SM.No.83 of 2015 (in respect of the above properties) before the Deputy Collector (Land Reforms), Malappuram District. Hence this writ petition. The limited prayer pressed before this Court is for issuance of a direction to the concerned respondent to consider and finalise the pending proceedings at the earliest.

Heard the learned Government Pleader as well.

Considering the limited nature of the relief sought for, this Court does not find it necessary to adjudicate the issue on merits. The writ petition is disposed of, directing the first respondent, Deputy Collector (Land Reforms), Malappuram District, to consider and finalise the SM proceedings 83/2015, in accordance with law, at the earliest, any rate, within 'six months' from the date of receipt of a copy of the judgment. The petitioner shall produce a copy of the judgment along with a copy of the writ petition before the first respondent, Deputy Collector (Land Reforms), Malappuram District, for further steps.
