JUDGMENT

The petitioner is retired from the Kerala Agricultural University as a Professor. The petitioner has approached this Court on account of the delay in disbursing the pensionary benefits.

2. The learned Standing Counsel for the Agricultural University would submit that on account of paucity of funds, they are unable to disburse the pensionary benefits to the petitioner and they may be given at least one year's time to pay the entire liability.

3. Considering the facts and circumstances, there shall be a direction to the University to disburse the entire pensionary benefits due to the petitioner within a period of five months from today. It is open to the University to pay the entire amount due to the petitioner either in monthly instalments or in lump sum within the time indicated as above. If the University fails to disburse the amount within the stipulated time, the amount will carry interest at the rate of 6% from the date of default.

The writ petition is disposed of as above.
