JUDGMENT

The petitioner has approached this Court with the following prayers:

"i. Issue a writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction to the respondents to receive the basic tax of the petitioner's property comprised in Survey Numbers 299/2-2, 299/3-2, 301/1 and 315/8 in Panachikkadu Village, Kottayam Taluk forthwith.

ii. Issue a writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction, directing the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of Ext.P2 representation as early as possible after affording an opportunity of being heard.

iii. Issue such other order or direction as this Honourable Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case."

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the grievance of the petitioner has already been projected by way of Ext.P2 representation which is pending consideration before the 1st respondent and the prayer is only to cause the same to be considered and disposed within a reasonable time.

W.P.C. No. 7554 of 2015 -22. Heard the learned Government Pleader as well.

3. Considering the limited nature of the relief sought for, this Court does not find it necessary to go into the merits of the case. The writ petition is disposed of, directing the 1st respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on Ext.P2 in accordance with law, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other interested parties, if any, at the earliest, at any rate, within 'two months' from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. The petitioner shall produce a copy of the judgment along with a copy of the writ petition before the 1st respondent for further steps.

The writ petition is disposed of.

P.R. RAMACHANDRA MENON, JUDGE.
