J U D G M E N T

The petitioner has approached this Court with the following prayers:

i. issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ order or direction directing or compelling the respondent to renew Ext.P1 licence as per renewal application as evidenced by Ext.P2.

ii) pass any other order which this Honourable Court may deem fit and proper under the circumstances of the case.

2. The petitioner was having licence for conducting manufacturing fireworks, which was to expire on 28.02.2014. In terms of Explosive Rules, the petitioner submitted application before the respondent/District Collector for renewal well within time, receipt of which has already been acknowledged by Ext.P2. The grievance of the petitioner is only with regard to delay in considering the application for renewal.

3. Heard the learned Government Pleader as well.

4. Considering the limited nature of relief, this Court does not find it necessary to adjudicate the issue on merits. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the

W.P.(C)No.7882 OF 2015 respondent District Collector to consider and dispose of, the application submitted by the petitioner, at the earliest, at any rate, within one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. The petitioner shall produce a copy of the judgment along with a copy of this writ petition before the respondent for further steps.
