The petitioner has approached this Court with the following prayers:
"1.
Issue a writ of mandamus or other appropriate writ order or direction commanding the 2nd respondent to include the petitioner's firm's name under Category IV and allot them the statutory audit of branches of the respondents' bank in Kottayam, Ernakulam, Pathanamthitta and/or Alappuzha districts and forward the name of the petitioner's firm to the RBI.
II.
Issue such other writ order or direction, as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper to meet the ends of justice." 2.
When the matter came up for consideration on yesterday, the following interim order was passed. "The learned standing counsel for the Bank submits on instructions that, the respondent Bank offered to empanell the petitioner, but the petitioner informed the Bank that he was already empanelled by the Bank of Baroda.
In the said circumstance, since a person can be empanelled only in respect of one Bank, alternate arrangements were made by the respondent Bank. The list was accordingly sent to the RBI, who has approved the same as well.
WP(c). No.9422 of 2015 The learned counsel for the petitioner seeks for time to confirm the position.
Post tomorrow."
3.
The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in view of the turn of events, the matter could be closed. Accordingly, the writ petition stands closed. Sd/- P.R. RAMACHANDRA MENON, JUDGE.
