JUDGMENT

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Corporation, apart from perusing the record. Since the issue lies in a narrow compass, this Court proposes to dispose of the writ petition at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner is said to have acquired property, a commercial building bearing No. 34/1509 within the limits of the respondent Corporation, on the strength of a settlement deed executed by his father, the original owner. Thus being the owner of the property, he submitted Exhibit P1 application for change of ownership. Complaining of delay in its consideration by the respondent Corporation, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

W.P.(c) No. 12124 of 2015

3. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Corporation has submitted that the respondent Corporation is willing to consider petitioner's application expeditiously.

4. In the facts and circumstances, having regard to the respective submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent corporation, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court disposes of the present writ petition with a direction to the respondent Corporation to consider Exhibit P1 application of the petitioner in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders thereon as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
