JUDGMENT

The petitioner has approached this Court with the following prayers :

(i) Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, direction or order directing the respondents to approve the select list and to publish the Select List for making appointment to the post of Associate Professor, Biological Oceanography in Fishery Biology Department under the 1st respondent University forthwith or at any rate, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

(ii) Issue a Writ of mandamus or other appropriate writ, direction or order directing the respondents to make appointment to the post of Associate Professor, Biological Oceanography in Fishery Biology Department under the 1st respondent University from the date of occurrence of vacancy without regard to the delay caused in making appointments with all consequential benefits;

(iii) Issue such other appropriate writ, direction or order which this Honourable Court deems fit and proper in the circumstances of the case;

In view of the reliefs sought by the petitioner, I am of the view that the select list for the appointment of the petitioner for the post of Associate Professor, Biological Oceanography in Fishery Biology Department, shall be finalized within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of.
