J U D G M E N T

Ashok Bhushan, CJ Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Pleader. No notice is being issued to 4th respondent in view of the judgment which is being passed. 2.

Petitioners who have been granted license to run toddy shop Nos.105, 106, 107, 108 and 109 in Group No.XX of Cherthala Range have come up in this writ petition seeking police protection against the 4th respondent. 4th respondent is none else than the son of the first petitioner.

Learned Government Pleader submits that in the previous year, the running of the shop was entrusted to 4th respondent, but this year it has been entrusted to the younger son of the first petitioner, which is a matter in controversy between the petitioner and the 4th respondent. He submits that the dispute regarding the running of the toddy shops between the

W.P (C) No. 15265/15 -:2:- petitioner and the 4th respondent is not a matter in which police can intervene. It is also submitted by the learned Government Pleader that in the event any offence is committed by the 4th respondent, it is open to the petitioners to file compliant before the Police. It is submitted that there is no law and order situation due to any action of the 4th respondent as on date. He also submitted that police shall maintain law and order on the aforesaid toddy shops as and when any such information is received.
