JUDGMENT
The petitioner alleges that she has completed the LLB course during the academic year 2011-14 and when the results were published, she was given the 2nd rank in the university. Thereafter on re-evaluation of her answer sheets, she got 2240/3000, whereas the 1st rank holder had only 2234/3000; it is alleged. Therefore, according to the petitioner, she is entitled to the 1st rank for the LLB course in the university, for the year 2014.
2. The petitioner further alleges that the practice in the respondent university is to declare the rank holder provisionally on the publication of the results and on completion of the revaluation process and scrutiny of answer sheets the rank holders would be finally declared. Now, it is understood that another student, who cleared the 3rd semester papers in her second attempt is about to be
WP(C)15342/15 -:2:- declared as the 1st rank holder. Coming to know about this, the petitioner submitted requests before respondents 2 and 3. However, no action has been taken on the same by the respondents. On the other hand, speedy steps are being initiated to declare the ranks; it is alleged. It is with this background, the petitioner has come up before this Court.
3. Arguments have been heard.
4. When the matter came up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner has confined his argument to the limited prayer for a direction to the appropriate body under the respondent university to consider the grievance of the petitioner. The learned standing counsel for the respondent university submitted that the university is ready to undergo that process.
5. Recording the said submission, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent university to take action as prayed by the petitioner in Ext.P4 at the earliest, at any rate, within a period of two
WP(C)15342/15 -:3:- weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. Till that, the publishing of rank list shall be kept in abeyance. For early action, it shall be open to the petitioner to produce a copy of this writ petition as well as a copy of this judgment and Ext.P4 before the respondent concerned at the earliest.
