JUDGMENT

The petitioner is the owner of a residential plot having an extent of 6.65 cents located within the local limits of the respondent Municipality. He is aggrieved by the delay in considering the application for building permit. The petitioner alleges that he applied for a building permit before the first respondent on 22.4.2015 and the application is in order and the first respondent has acknowledged receipt of the application. Now, the petitioner is on leave and he is staying back in India so that he could oversee the construction of the house. However, the first respondent has not even considered the application for building permit.

It is in this background, the petitioner has come up before this Court. 2.

I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Municipality in the matter.

W.P.(C) No. 15476 of 2015 -23.

As the limited prayer in this writ petition is only for a speedy disposal of the petitioner's application for building permit, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent Municipality to consider and pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's application for building permit within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. It is open to the petitioner to produce a copy of the judgment and a copy of this writ petition before the respondent Municipality to facilitate an early action.
