JUDGMENT

Ashok Bhushan, CJ.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader. No notice is being issued to the private respondents, in view of the order, which is being passed.

2. The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition alleging Police harassment. The petitioner's case is that complaint under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act has been filed by the petitioner against respondents 6 and 7 regarding a cheque transaction, which is pending consideration. He submits that at the instance of respondents 6 and 7, the petitioner is being called at the Police Station and pressure is put on him to settle the matter.

3. The learned Government Pleader, on instructions, submitted that on a complaint received from the 6th respondent, the petitioner was called and the statement was recorded. The Police, after coming to know that the dispute is with regard to financial transaction and the Police have nothing to do with that, the complaint has been closed.

In the above view of the matter, we find that the Writ Petition need not be entertained. Recording the statement made by the learned Government Pleader, the Writ Petition is closed.
