J U D G M E N T

The petitioner, who claims to be the senior most High School Assistant in the Katampazhippuram High School, Palakkad, is presently working as Headmaster in charge of the said School. It is stated that the petitioner was put in charge as Headmaster with effect from 30.9.2004 when the regular Headmistress applied for voluntary retirement from service [VRS] and went on leave. The application for VRS put up by the regular Headmistress was accepted by the District Educational Officer with effect from 30.9.2014. It is the case of the petitioner that, he, being the senior most has, is entitled now to be promoted as Headmaster. The petitioner has preferred Exts.P6 and P8 representations before the 2nd respondent seeking redressal of his grievance with regard to the appointment as Headmaster. In the writ petition, the limited prayer of the petitioner is for a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider and pass orders on Exts.P6 and P8 representations, within a stipulated time frame.

2. I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as also the Government Pleader for the respondents.

On a consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case as also the submissions made across the bar, I dispose the writ petition with a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider and pass orders on Exts.P6 and P8 representations preferred by the petitioner before him, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment, after hearing the petitioner.
