J U D G M E N T

The petitioner, who is working as 'Karanma Mel Saanthi' in the Chengannur Mahadeva Temple, is aggrieved by Ext.P5 order that was passed against him pursuant to Ext.P3 show cause notice. It is his submission in the writ petition that against Ext.P5 order, he has preferred Ext.P6 appeal before the 1st respondent. The limited prayer in the writ petition is for a direction to the 1st respondent to consider and pass orders on Ext.P6 appeal expeditiously, after hearing him.

2. I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as also the learned Standing counsel for the respondent Board. On a consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case as also the submissions made across the bar, I dispose the writ petition with a direction to the 1st respondent to consider and pass orders on Ext.P6 appeal preferred by the petitioner before him, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment, after

I make it clear that till such time as orders are passed by the 1st respondent, as directed above, and communicated to the petitioner, the petitioner shall be exempted from the requirement of taking custody of the Thiruvabharanam of the Chengannur Mahadeva Temple, as part of his daily duties.
