JUDGMENT

The petitioner is seeking a direction to the second respondent to consider Exhibit P1 application for regular permit.

2. Petitioner is an applicant for the grant of a regular permit on the route Koottanad - Edappal before the first respondent. The route in question passes through rural and interior areas wherein the travelling public are put to difficulties for want of adequate travelling facilities. The application for regular permit was submitted strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and its Rules thereunder, after remitting the requisite fee of Rs.5600/- as early as on 2.2.2015. Petitioner submits that though the application for regular permit was submitted as early as on 2.2.2015, the same was not considered till

W.P.(c) No. 17124 of 2015 date because the Regional Transport Authority, Palakkad, is not meeting regularly. Now it is understood that the next meeting of the Regional Transport Authority, Palakkad, is scheduled to be held on 17.06.2015. Petitioner's limited prayer is to include his application also in the said meeting.

3. I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader in the matter. As it is submitted that the next meeting of the Regional Transport Authority is scheduled to be held on 17.06.2015, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent concerned to consider Exhibit P1 application for regular permit submitted by the petitioner in the conference to be held on 17.06.2015 after affording the petitioner and other affected parties an opportunity of hearing.
