JUDGMENT

Petitioners have approached this Court with the following prayers:

1. Issue a writ of mandamus or such other writs, order or direction, directing the second respondent, Regional Transport Officer, Kannur to complete the proceedings as relating to the 'G' form for the period from 1.7.2012 to 30.9.2012 as relating to contract carriage vehicle KL-54 B 6219 and make necessary endorsements in the RC Book of the vehicle granting exemption;

2. Issue a writ of mandamus or such other writs, order or direction, directing the respondents to permit the petitioner to pay tax for the period from 1.1.2014 to 31.3.2014 and from 1.4.2014 to 30.6.2014 as relating to the vehicle KL-54 B 6219 in 6 equal monthly instalments.

2. In respect of the first prayer, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to consider the request of the petitioners within four weeks after issuing notice to the petitioners.

3. Learned Government Pleader opposes the second prayer of the petitioners.

Taking note of the facts and circumstances, the petitioners are permitted to clear the tax in five equal monthly instalments commencing from the month of July, 2015.

The writ petition is disposed of as above.
