Seeking a direction to the respondent university to release the supplementary examination results of the petitioner, the petitioner has come up before this Court. 2.

The petitioner has completed his B.Com course at Christ College, Irinjalakkuda in March 2014. He could not undertake his regular 2nd semester examination for the course in May 2012 due to the demise of his father and he could not undertake the supplementary examination in 2013 due to a mistaken stand taken by the college authorities that he would have to repeat that semester. The petitioner alleges that as Ext.P1 clarification in this regard came from the university only after the completion of his course, the petitioner lost a precious year due to no fault of his. The petitioner further alleges that he has now an opportunity to pursue his higher studies abroad and the same is likely to be lost if the results of the 2nd semester supplementary examination is not released before 15.08.2015 and if he is not issued with his provisional

degree certificate. According to him, the respondents are duty bound to consider the same and to take effective steps timely to see that his 2nd semester supplementary examination results are released in a time bound manner and he is issued with a provisional certificate immediately thereafter. Hence, this writ petition.

3.

Arguments have been heard.

4.

The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent university, on instructions, submitted that the valuation has been started. However, preference is given to the final semester examination, which would take three months for completion.

5.

However, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the matter requires urgent attention. Considering the nature of the submission, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent university to publish the result of the petitioner at the earliest, if possible, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
