J U D G M E N T

Shaffique, J Petitioner has approached this court alleging harassment by the police. It is stated that the petitioner, who is hailing from her native place at Gujarat, has taken refuge in the house of Sri.P.C.Thomas, a person in the State of Kerala and is living separately. It is stated that a Police Constable has visited the residence of the petitioner and is insisting that she will have to appear before the police. Searches have been conducted in the house of Sri.P.C.Thomas.

Learned State Attorney, on instructions, would submit that certain Police Officers from Gujarat had come to Cochin in connection with investigation of Crime No.92/2015 of Vejapur Police Station, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. They have sought for assistance from the local police from 15/07/2015. Local police had given necessary assistance and had gone to the place where the petitioner was residing. She was not in Station and thereafter

W.P.C.No.22280/2015 they came back taking on record the aforesaid factual situation. Gujarat police had returned to Gujarat as well. Other than that, police had not taken any action and the allegations contrary to the same are absolutely incorrect.

Having regard to the factual situation that the police had come to investigate a crime, we do not think that the same amounts to harassment by the police. In so far as crime has been registered at Vejapur Police Station at Gujarat, it is for the petitioner to take appropriate steps in accordance with law. Since there is no harassment by the police, we close this writ petition.
