JUDGMENT
This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner who retired from the service of the Corporation of Cochin on 31.3.2012 with the prayer to direct the respondent to disburse the retiral benefits. When this matter is taken up for consideration today, it is submitted by the learned counsel on both sides that the retiral benefits payable to the petitioner have already been paid. Though there is delay in the matter of payment of retiral benefits, having considered the aspects which resulted in the delay in the matter of disbursement of retiral benefits, I am of the view that no wilful latches or lapses could be attributed on the respondent. In the said circumstances, recording the fact that the retiral benefits payable to the petitioner have already been paid, this writ petition is closed.
