JUDGMENT

The petitioner is seeking a direction to the respondent university to expedite the revaluation of the petitioner's answer sheet in the second semester M.Com Finance Examination held during August 2014.

2.

The petitioner is the student of Baselius College, Kottayam, affiliated to the first respondent University. The petitioner alleges that he appeared for his 2nd Semester M.Com Finance examination during August 2014. His registration Number is 130011017635. The petitioner further alleges that he has appeared for the 2nd semester examination conducted by the first respondent in a commendable manner. However, when he received his mark lists, it was found that the petitioner has failed in one paper. Hence the petitioner has submitted Ext.P1 and P2 applications for revaluation within time stipulated by the first respondent for the same. It is

-2further pointed out that now the petitioner is about to complete his course and he is awaiting the revaluation results of 2nd semester examination. It is further alleged that the petitioner is intending to appear for the National Eligibility Test (NET) and various other examinations. It is understood that in order to appear for various examinations, the minimum criteria required is the submission of the mark lists of completed semesters. For that purpose, he has approached the university with request to publish his results of revaluation at the earliest. After submitting the applications, the petitioner went to the office of the second respondent on several times. However, in spite of the requests, no expeditious action is taken for the revaluation of the answer papers of the petitioner. So it is highly necessary to get his paper revalued and result to be published at the earliest. But it is learnt that the process of revaluation and publication of results would at least take minimum three months from today. In that event, the petitioner would not be able to produce the mark list

-3showing that he has completed the second semester examination successfully.

3.

I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned standing counsel for the respondent university in the matter.

4.

Today, when the matter came up for hearing, the learned standing counsel for the respondent university on instruction submitted that the respondent university would publish the result before 30.9.2015.

Recording the said submission, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent to adhere to the above time schedule and to publish the result of the petitioner within the aforesaid time without fail.
