JUDGMENT
When the matter came up for consideration on 30.10.2013 interim custody of the vehicle was ordered to be released on satisfaction of a sum of 25,000/-. It is stated by the learned ₹ counsel for the petitioner that the said amount has already been paid and the vehicle was released and further that the petitioner would like to compound the offence.
2. Heard the learned Government Pleader as well.
3. After hearing both the sides, in view of the willingness expressed from the part of the petitioner to have the offence compounded, conceding the guilt, this Court finds it fit and proper to direct the respondent to compound the offence. The amount already paid by the petitioner shall be treated as compounding fee and no prosecution proceedings shall be pursued against the petitioner. The position shall be reported to the concerned authorities/Court.
The writ petition is closed accordingly.
P.R. RAMACHANDRA MENON, JUDGE.
