JUDGMENT

The petitioner has approached this Court for a direction to the respondent university to publish the result of 3rd and 4th semester of M.A. in Mridangam at the earliest. 2.

This writ petition is filed against the inaction and delay on the part of the respondents in declaring the results of the petitioner in 3rd and 4th semester examinations of M.A. in Mridangam conducted on January and June 2015. The petitioner alleges that delay in declaring the results are detrimental to the petitioner as the last date notified by the Kerala Public Service Commission for making the application to the post of Lecturer Mridangam is 19.8.2015. The Kerala Public Service Commission had notified the post of Lecturer in Mridangam after a lapse of more than 16 years. If the petitioner could not apply for the post within the date specified in Ext.P3 notification, he would be losing his chance of

-2employment for ever; it is alleged.

The learned standing counsel for the respondent university, today, on instructions submitted that the tabulation process of the third semester examination held in January 2015, would be completed on receipt of the marks of the practical examination. On completion of tabulation, pass board meeting has to be conducted for the publication of the result of the said examination. After the publication of the result of the third semester examination, the result of fourth semester examination can be published. For that also, pass board meeting has to be conducted. The respondent university would submit that the petitioner is the only candidate for the examination. The only difficulty pointed out by the respondent university is the nonavailability of the members of the pass board to convene the pass board meeting at the earliest. However, it is pointed out that sincere efforts would be taken for the speedy publication of the result of the said examination.

-3Recording the said submission, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent university to prevail upon the board members to convene the pass board meeting at the earliest opportunity and try to publish the result before 19.8.2015.
