JUDGMENT
The petitioners, who are working as Superintendents of Survey and Land Records, claim that they are entitled to be promoted to the next higher post of Assistant Director of Survey and Land Records. The petitioners claim such promotion in the light of Ext.P6 circular. They further claim that they are the senior most as per Ext.P9 seniority list. Since they are due to retire on superannuation on 31.3.2012, they claim that they may be granted at least temporary promotions to the next higher post. Though they have submitted Exts.P10 and P11 representations before the first respondent seeking such temporary promotions, no orders have been passed thereon, till date.
2. I have heard the learned Government Pleader also.
3. Since the claim of the petitioners for temporary
WPC No.27825 of 2010 2 promotion is pending consideration of the first respondent, it is sufficient that the said claim is directed to be considered at the earliest.
4. This writ petition is accordingly disposed of directing the first respondent to consider the claim of the petitioners set out in their representations, evidenced herein by Exts.P10 and P11, in accordance with law and in the light of Ext.P6 circular and to pass appropriate orders thereon, as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. The petitioner shall produce a copy of this judgment before the first respondent for compliance with the above directions.
