Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Senior Government Pleader.

By this writ petition, the petitioner has prayed for a direction to the respondents to provide adequate police protection to the life of the petitioner and further to prevent any unlawful incident from the 5th respondent. The 5th respondent is the husband of the petitioner. It has been stated in the writ petition that from 2007 onwards the petitioner is residing separately at Ernakulam and a case for divorce has also been filed in the Family Court, Kannur. 3.

Learned Government Pleader submits that both parties are living separately and as on date, there is no threat or any law and order situation as alleged by the petitioner. 4.

However, we observe that in any event of offence or attempt to commit offence, it shall be open for the petitioner to file a complaint before the concerned police station, who shall be looked into the matter and appropriate action be
