The petitioner, who is working as a Junior Superintendent at Thiruvananthapuram, is aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondents to consider her application for transfer to Kollam district. In this connection, she has preferred Ext.P3 representation before the 1st respondent and the limited prayer in the writ petition is for a direction to the 1st respondent to consider and pass orders on Ext.P3 representation after hearing the petitioner. It is also submitted by counsel for the petitioner that, at present, there is a vacancy in the post of Junior Superintendent at Project Division, Kollam and the request of the petitioner is to keep the said vacancy unfilled till such time as orders are passed by the 1st respondent on the representation referred to above.

2. I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing counsel for the respondents.

3. On a consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case as also the submissions made across the bar, I dispose the writ petition with a direction to the 1st respondent to consider and pass

W.P.(C).No.25112 of 2015 orders on Ext.P3 representation preferred by the petitioner seeking transfer to an office in Kollam district. The 1st respondent shall pass orders after hearing the petitioner within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. I make it clear that, till such time as orders are passed by the 1st respondent as directed and communicated to the petitioner, the vacancy stated to exist in the post of Junior Superintendent in the Project Division at Kollam shall not be filled by the respondents. The petitioner shall produce a copy of the writ petition along with a copy of this judgment before the 1st respondent for further action.
