J U D G M E N T

The existing electricity connection stands in the name of the grand father of the petitioner. The petitioner is free to apply for fresh electricity connection in his name. The application if any put in within two weeks from today shall be dealt with as per law within two weeks therefrom. Respondents 2 and 3 are at liberty to move for permission to draw the electricity line in case of any objection from any quarters. Such permission is warranted in terms of Section 16 of the Indian Telegraph Act.

2. The status quo as regards the present connection shall be maintained till the application for new connection is processed.

The electricity connection shall be maintained if the application is allowed till the route is finalised and the new connection granted.

The Writ Petition is disposed of.
