J U D G M E N T

The petitioner herein is the brother in law of the accused in Crime No.1111 of 2013 of the Kannur Town Police station registered under Sections 337 and 427 IPC. He seeks a writ of mandamus for a direction for effective investigation in the crime. The police made investigation and submitted final report in the crime before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-I, Kannur. Cognizance was taken there on, as C.C No.1616 of 2013 and the prosecution therein stands quashed by this court as per the order in Crl.M.C No.7084 of 2014. In such a situation, this writ petition for effective investigation of the crime need not proceed. Accordingly, this writ petition is closed.
