J U D G M E N T

Shaffique, J.

The Working President of Uthradam Thirunal Pamba Boat Race has approached this Court seeking for police protection. It is stated that the Pamba boat race is a local event, which is scheduled to be held on 27.8.2015. The petitioner apprehends that certain miscreants in the locality may create untoward incident and it is stated that their intention is to create nuisance and disrupt the smooth and peaceful functioning of the conduct of said boat race and other cultural programs. Though the petitioner had given complaint to the police, but, he apprehends that the police may not render necessary protection and hence, he has approached this Court.

Learned State Attorney on instructions would submit that sufficient police force will be made available for the conduct of boat race and other functions being conducted on the said date. The apprehension expressed by the petitioner is unfounded and it is also stated that the police will take necessary action to ensure
