JUDGMENT

Ext. P2 SSLC Certificate and Ext. P3 Passport reflect that the date of birth of the petitioner's son is 17.05.1978. The petitioner after all wants to correct the date of birth of his son as entered in Ext. P1 birth certificate from 17.07.1978 to 17.05.1978.

The petitioner or his son do not gain anything by increasing the age owing to the correction sought. There is power abundant under Rule 11(2) of the Kerala Registration of Births and Deaths Rules, 1999 to correct the date of birth even.

Ext. P5 order declining permission to correct the date of birth in the birth certificate is hereby quashed. The respondent is directed to carry out the correction as sought or issue a fresh birth certificate within a period of one month.

The writ petition is disposed of.
