JUDGMENT

The request of the petitioner to have the vehicle registered as a private service vehicle is seriously opposed by the Government Pleader on the basis of the judgment in W.A. No. 1478/2014. I do not want to delve deep into these aspects even though the petitioner attempts to distinguish the said decision since there is an alternate remedy. An appeal lies against Ext. P6 order to the Deputy Transport Commissioner under Section 57 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

2.

Any appeal filed within one month from today shall be dealt with by the prescribed authority within a period of two weeks therefrom. Needless to say that the petitioner shall be put on notice and heard in the exercise.

The writ petition is disposed of.
