JUDGMENT

The petitioner has approached this Court challenging impounding of the Passport.

The petitioner is the holder of Passport bearing No.F 2030023. This has been impounded by the second respondent as per Ext.P2. It is now submitted that the Passport is with the first respondent. The petitioner submits that he is not involved in any criminal cases and impounding of the Passport is illegal. It is admitted that the validity of the Passport is expired. Therefore, this Court is of the view, the petitioner shall approach the first respondent for re-issuance of Passport or to release of the Passport. Based on the request of the petitioner, necessary orders shall be passed by the first respondent within three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. If the petitioner applies for fresh Passport, it shall be considered in accordance with law. The writ petition is disposed of as above.
