JUDGMENT

The petitioner has approached this Court with the following prayers :

(i) Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing the respondents to correct the date of birth of the petitioner in his school records as 12.02.1992 in the place of 12.02.1993 considering the Exhibit P3 Birth Certificate. (ii) Such other relief which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit in the facts and circumstances of the case.

2. The learned Government Pleader submits that the application preferred by the petitioner for effecting correction in the date of birth in the school records was not in the prescribed form and not supported by the relevant documents, hence it was rejected. It is brought to the notice of this court that the proper form can be down loaded from the Website of the Pareeksha Bhavan and if the petitioner prefers an application in the prescribed form with the relevant documents ; such as (i) application for correction of date of birth in the prescribed format, (ii) birth certificate in original and two

attested copies, (iii) Chalan receipt for Rs.500/- (in original) (iv) SSLC certificate in original and two attested copies and (v) a self addressed big cover affixing the stamp of worth Rs.42/- for returning the corrected SSLC certificate; it will be considered and corrected certificate will be issued.

3. In the said circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of, setting the petitioner at liberty to file an application in prescribed format along with the necessary documents as aforesaid and if necessary to approach this Court again, if grievance is not redressed.
