JUDGMENT

Ext.P2 application form put in by the petitioner shows that the annual income of her family is only `24,000/-. But then the petitioner was denied admission in M.Sc. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) only because she erroneously stated 'no' to the query as to whether she is below the poverty line. It is reported that a candidate far below in the rank list has already been accommodated in the below poverty line category. 2.

The question whether the petitioner can be accommodated in the course if 20% seats is increased is a matter for consideration. I permit the petitioner to file a detailed representation to the first respondent who shall place it before the governing body of the college. The governing body shall take decision as to whether that can be an increase in the number of seats and forward the same to the second respondent for formal approval.

The possibility of admitting the petitioner to the course without disturbing the other candidates already admitted shall be explored. The exercise shall be completed within a period of ten days from today.

The Writ Petition is disposed of.
