J U D G M E N T

Shaffique, J Petitioner has approached this Court seeking police protection inter alia stating that the petitioner owns an extent of 6 acres of rubber plantation which is about 3 Kms away from her residence. Respondents 6 to 8, who are nearby residents, had cut open a pathway and trespassed into the property and are threatening the petitioner and her family members with dire consequences, if they take any action in the matter. 2.

The learned Government Pleader, on instructions, would submit that on the basis of the complaint given by the petitioner, crime has been registered and it is pending investigation.

Having regard to the fact that the petitioner alleges criminal acts, it is for the police to ensure maintenance of law and order.

4.

In the result, we direct the 4th respondent to ensure maintenance of law and order in the matter relating to the complaint of the petitioner and keep a constant vigil on the activities of respondents 6 to 8.

This writ petition is disposed of as above.
