The petitioner has approached this court alleging police harassment. It is stated that respondent nos.4 to 7 complained that the petitioner had borrowed certain amounts from them and at the influence of the police, they are demanding the amounts. It is stated that the aforesaid action of the 3rd respondent of acting on behalf of respondents 4 to 7 by demanding amounts from the petitioner, amounts to harassment.
2. The learned Government Pleader on instruction submitted that a complaint was received by the Dy.S.P. from about 30 persons, alleging that the petitioner is running an unauthorised chitty business and the complaint was forwarded to the 3rd respondent who has summoned the petitioner for taking a statement. The petitioner appeared
W.P.(C)No.29638 of 2015 before the police station on 28.9.2015 and a statement in part has been taken. He was asked to appear on 2.10.2015 also and at this stage, he has approached this Court. It is stated that the petitioner was summoned to the police station for enquiring about the aforesaid complaint and no harassment has taken place, as alleged in the writ petition. We take record of the submissions of the learned Government Pleader. We do not think that the enquiry conducted by the police in any way amounts to harassment. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. Sd/- ASHOK BHUSHAN, CHIEF JUSTICE.
