JUDGMENT

The petitioner wants to marry a foreign national of U.S. citizenship under the Cochin Christian Civil Marriage Act, 1095. The respondent refused to receive notice for want for appointment of Marriage Officer in the country of foreign national. 2.

This Court in several judgments held that there is no impediment in allowing the registration of the marriage merely for the reason that the Marriage Officer has not been appointed in the foreign country.

In view of the above, the respondent is directed to receive notice of marriage and register the marriage in accordance with the above Act. Notice shall be reckoned as on today. The writ petition is disposed of as above.
