Dated this the 21st day of May, 2015 J U D G M E N T The petitioners, who are the Manager and Headmistress of Lourdes Matha English Medium School, Kollam, had approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the applications submitted by the petitioner's School for recognition, and to pass appropriate orders within two months. In a counter affidavit filed on behalf of the respondents, the stand taken by the respondents is that the request of the petitioners cannot be acceded to as the School in question does not satisfy the criteria stipulated for recognition in G.O No.107/07/G.Edn. dated 13.06.2007.

When confronted with this situation, counsel for the petitioners would submit that it is reliably learnt that the Government has since modified the criteria for grant of recognition and the petitioners would like to prefer a fresh application for recognition based on the changed norms. Thus, without prejudice to the right of the petitioners to move the respondents for the grant of recognition as per the changed norms, if any, the present writ petition seeking recognition based on the Government order dated 13.06.2007 is dismissed as infructuous.
