J U D G M E N T
Petitioner approached this Court on account of delay in releasing the prize amount due to him for the lottery ticket bearing No.WK-307552 of the Win-Win Lottery,W-86,2011 organised and conducted by the third respondent for and on behalf of the Government of Kerala, in the draw conducted on 9.2.2011. The petitioner is the resident of Mumbai and it appears that the respondents have doubted about the genuineness of the ticket of the petitioner.
2. This Court, in various judgments, held that merely because the prize winner is a resident of outside the State, he cannot be denied the prize amount.
3. Today, the learned Special Government Pleader made available to me the instructions given by the Director of State
WP(C).NO. 31086 OF 2015 :-2-:
Lotteries wherein the Department is satisfied with the genuineness of the ticket of the petitioner. In that view of the matter, the amount shall be released to the petitioner within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
This writ petition is disposed of as above.
