J U D G M E N T

The petitioner had been included in the rank list for selection to the post of Assistant Professor (Veterinary Micro-Biology), produced herein as Ext.P2. Two persons namely; the rank Nos. 1 and 2 were appointed to the vacancies. The 1st rank holder, after joining for duty, resigned from the 1st respondent to take up a better job. The petitioner, the next rank holder, prayed for appointment of the petitioner in the vacancy created by the resignation of the 1st rank holder, the 2nd respondent herein.

2. The respondent University has filed a counter affidavit, in which it has been stated that the issue of appointing further candidates from the rank list was placed before the 43rd Board of Management meeting of the University and the Board

W.P.(C) No.31095 of 2015 - J has decided to serve notice on the Assistant Professors, relieved from the University and fill up the consequential vacancies from the valid rank list, based on the reply received from the resigned employees.

3. In such circumstance, the University shall expedite the matter and the petitioner shall be informed, whether she would be appointed or not, at any rate, within a period of three months from the date of production of a certified copy of this judgment.
