JUDGMENT

The petitioner, aggrieved by Exhibit P1 letter issued by the District Collector to the Sub Registrar, Peerumedu, has approached this Court. By Exhibit P1, the District Collector interdicted the registering authority from registering an exempted land under the Kerala Land Reforms Act.

2. This Court in Devassia v. Sub Registrar (2015

(1) KLT 825) held that there is no provision in the Kerala Land Reforms Act restricting alienation of exempted land in whole or part.

3. In view of the self contained measures in terms of the Kerala Land Reforms Act, it is not for the Sub Registrar to refuse registration of sale deeds. Therefore, there shall be a direction to the Sub Registrar to register the deed, if

WP(C).31111/15 it is otherwise in conformity with the Registration Act and Rules.

The Writ Petition is disposed of as above.
