JUDGMENT
Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for respondents 1 and 2, apart from perusing the record. Since the issue lies in a narrow compass, this Court proposes to dispose of the writ petition at the admission stage itself.
2. Briefly stated, the petitioner, said to be the Convenor of the Karma Samithi, which is said to have been formed for establishing a new Grama Panchayat at Manikkadavu, is a resident of the same village coming under Ulikkal Grama Panchayat. As part of the Samithi's efforts to have Ulikkal Grama Panchayat bifurcated, the petitioner and other people interested in the issue are said to have jointly submitted Exhibit P2 application to the second respondent.
WPC 34098/14
3. A perusal of the record reveals that Exhibit P2 application was submitted in terms of Exhibit P1, a notification issued by the second respondent inviting applications for formation of new Grama Panchayat. Ventilating his grievance that their Exhibit P2 application has so far not been considered, the petitioner approached this Court.
In the facts and circumstances, having regard to the respective submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader, this Court, without adverting to the merits of the matter, disposes of the writ petition with a direction to the second respondent to consider Exhibit P2 application of the petitioner in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders thereon, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
