JUDGMENT

Petitioner is a retired employee from the Chengannur Municipality. Petitioner retired from the service of the Municipality on 28.02.2014 on attaining superannuation. Except monthly pension and provident fund amount, no other pensionary benefits have been disbursed to the petitioner. Accordingly, petitioner approached this Court.

In this matter a statement has been filed on behalf of the first respondent. It is stated that on account of financial constraints of the Municipality, they are unable to pay the pensionary benefits. Municipality sought six months' time to pay off the entire liability. 3.

Considering the facts and circumstances, first respondent is given time till 30.06.2015 to discharge the entire liability due to the petitioner. However, it is made clear that entire payment has to be effected on or before 30.06.2015. If the Municipality fails to pay the amount within the above period, the amount will carry interest @7.5% per annum from 01.07.2015 onwards.

The Writ Petition is disposed of.
