JUDGMENT
The petitioner, an Association of Passengers, by the above writ petition, requests for a bus stop for Fast Passenger and Super Fast Services at Methale Mukkali; between Thalassery and Vadakara. The said place is said to be 9.6 Kms. from Vadakara and 4.4 Kms. from Mahe.
2. The petitioner approached the Regional Transport Authority [for brevity "RTA"] and then the State Transport Appellate Tribunal [for brevity "the Tribunal"]. The Tribunal, by Exhibit P2, found that the report of the Motor Vehicle Inspector also did not find favour with the request made by the Passenger Association. Admittedly there was a stop at Vadakara and the request made was for providing a bus stop at Meethale Mukkali for Fast Passenger and Super Fast Services. The commuters of these services are long distance passengers and considering the fact that the distance from the already scheduled stop to the presently sought bus stop is only 4.4 Kms., the Tribunal found that it would
WP(C).No.34266 of 2014 - 2 - only cause inconvenience to the long distance passengers. This Court does not find any reason to interfere with Exhibit P2 order. It is also to be noticed that the petitioner has no contention that there are no sufficient stage carriage services between Thalassery and Vadakara having stop at this particular point. Hence, there would be no reason to grant a stop for the Fast Passenger and Super Fast Services only taking into account the desire of the Association members, residing at Methele Mukkali, to travel in a Fast Passenger or Super Fast service. The writ petition would stand dismissed.
