J U D G M E N T
The petitioner is an educational institution affiliated to the 1st respondent University and who has been sanctioned affiliation to conduct M.Tech courses in Engineering by Ext.P2. The petitioner has also admitted students in the current academic year being 2014-15. However, the syllabus has not been finalised by the University till date. In fact the very same courses conducted by the other Universities have recognised syllabi and in accordance with that, on the request of the University, the petitioner institution had also submitted a draft proposal of the intended syllabi for the course. Classes have commenced and the students have been imparted with training in the course. Definitely the syllabus will have to be finalised atleast before the end academic year examinations which would be scheduled some time in March-April.
2. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent University on instruction submits that a Board of Studies has been constituted as per the statute which governs the affairs of the University and the Board of Studies will take final decision on the syllabi of the M.Tech course, within a period of six weeks. The undertaking is recorded and it is directed that the University shall expedite the decision making the process and the 2nd respondent shall ensure that the syllabi is finalised within the time as undertaken before this Court. Definitely such finalisation shall be done before the decision to schedule the examinations.
The writ petition is disposed of.
