JUDGMENT

The petitioner is a stage carriage operator conducting service on the route Talippara - Thrissur with the stage carriage bearing Registration No.KL59B-9050. The petitioner submits that while operating, lot of new services were introduced on the route and sector and lot of services are stopped their services. But the petitioner was operating consistently without any modifications to the existing time schedule. While so, one time slot from Kannur at 2.20 p.m. has fallen vacant since the basic permit holder surrendered the said route and the said permit is more or less similar to that of the petitioner's service. In the said circumstances, the petitioner preferred Ext.P1

W.P. (C) No. 35341 of 2015 -: 2 :- application requesting for one time slot that is the departure time from Kannur at 2.20 p.m. According to the petitioner, the said change of timing would be beneficial to the travelling public also. But the Secretary, R.T.A. has not taken any action on Ext.P1 the application so far.

2. Having regard to the grievance projected in this writ petition, I am of the view that Ext.P1 application deserves to be considered and addressed by the respondent at the earliest. Hence the respondent is directed to consider Ext.P1 and pass orders accordingly, at any rate, within a period one month from today.
