JUDGMENT
The petitioner's son passed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination in the year 2015. The CBSE was issued a certificate dated 28.05.2015.
2. In the certificate, there are some mistakes in the name of the petitioner's son as well as his father. The petitioner approached CBSE to correct the certificate. This was rejected by Ext.P4 stating that the correction in candidates name and his father are not supported by school records.
3. This Court is of the view that CBSE is right in rejecting the same as petitioner did not take steps to correct the school records.
4. In that view of the matter, the following directions are issued :
W.P.(C).No. 35886 of 2015 -2If the petitioner approaches 3rd respondent, the 3rd respondent shall correct the school records based on the documents furnished by the petitioner. This shall be done within three weeks. Thereafter, the 3rd respondent shall forward the same to the 2nd respondent for correcting the certificate issued to the petitioner.
On receipt of the records from the school authorities, the 2nd respondent shall correct the certificate in accordance with the school records, within a period of three months. The petitioner shall produce all relevant documents before the school authorities-CBSE for taking necessary action.
It is made clear that the petitioner's request has to be considered in terms of unamended bye laws.
The writ petition is disposed of as above.
