JUDGMENT
The petitioner, who is faced with revenue recovery steps for recovery of an amount Rs.1,30,560/- together with accrued interest as evidenced in Ext.P1 demand notice, seeks only the grant of instalments for discharging the liability.
I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned standing counsel for respondents 1 and 2 and the learned Government Pleader for respondents 3 and 4.
On a consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case as also the submissions made across the Bar, I dispose the writ petition with the following directions:- (i) If the petitioner pays the total amount demanded in Ext.P1, in six equal and successive monthly installments, commencing from 21.12.2015, then the recovery steps initiated against him by the respondents shall be kept in abeyance.
(ii)It is made clear that if the petitioner commits a default
W.P.(c).No.36530 of 2015 : 2 :
in respect of any of the installments, he will lose the benefit of this judgment and the respondents will be free to continue the recovery proceedings against him from the stage at which they presently stand.
