JUDGMENT
The petitioner, who had the arrack vending licence for the year 1995-96, owed certain dues to the Government. After a few rounds of litigation, the petitioner has claimed that he does not owe any further amounts and that his property earlier taken over by the Government should be reconveyed.
2. The learned Government Pleader, on the other hand, has submitted that the petitioner still owes money to a tune of more than Rupees Five lakhs.
3. In reply, the learned counsel for the petitioner has contended that the petitioner has submitted Exhibit P8 representation to the first respondent as well as the other authorities concerned, setting out in detail in what manner
WPC 36936/15 the dues have to be adjusted and how the property has to be re-conveyed. In that context, he has urged this Court to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's Exhibit P8 representation in accordance with law.
3. The learned Government Pleader, on his part, has submitted that the first respondent has no objection to consider the petitioner's Exhibit P8 representation expeditiously.
In the facts and circumstances, having regard to the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, disposes of the writ petition with a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's Exhibit P8 representation in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, and pass appropriate orders
WPC 36936/15 thereon, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
